Chapman Learning Project Assistant

As a Chapman Learning Commons Project Assistant, my daily tasks involve cultivating a supportive learning environment for students, faculty, staff, and community members. This includes serving as the first point of contact for patrons, referring them to resources within the CLC and across UBC, and providing technology and equipment support. I also assist with the daily operations of the Learning Centre, foster a friendly and interdisciplinary learning environment, and engage in resources.

Data Analysis: Forest Fires

Through this task, I demonstrated my ability to read a dataset from the web into R and to clean and wrangle the data into a tidy format. Additionally, I displayed my skills in exploratory data analysis by summarizing the data in at least one table and creating at least one relevant plot using only the training data. These skills are essential for conducting effective data analysis and can be applied in various fields, including business, research, and data science.

In this assignment, our goal is to show the applications of calculus in a field in order to “to convince the reader that calculus is a very useful subject and is full of real-world applications demonstrating your knowledge of the subject” (Anwesh’s Instructions, 2021). Hence, I “may also write about what your interests are and how learning calculus will be useful in your academic and professional development” (Anwesh’s Instructions, 2021).

New Media: Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality

Through the CRWR 213 Introduction to Writing for the New Media course, I have learned the fundamental skills required to create compelling content across a variety of digital platforms. The course has helped me understand how to write for different mediums, including podcasting, blogging, and website content, and has provided me with the opportunity to practice my skills in these areas.

Fictional and Non-Fictional Creative Writing

As part of a creative writing course, I was tasked with writing three original and fictional stories following rigorous criteria. These assignments challenged me to think critically and creatively, as I had to come up with a unique plot, develop well-rounded characters, and establish a clear narrative structure. To ensure that my stories met the rigorous criteria, I had to carefully consider elements such as plot development, character motivation, and dialogue.
