Evaluating the Hidroituango Dam: Lessons in Energy

This paper examines the Hidroituango Dam project in Colombia, highlighting the challenges and externalities associated with its construction. It emphasizes the importance of sustainable energy development, social cost-benefit analysis, and responsible resource management in large-scale projects.

Capturing Agricultural Methane – Economic Research

Through my participation in the course "COEC 475: The Economics and Policy of the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources," I gained a profound understanding of the intricate relationship between economics and sustainability. The course broadened my knowledge of environmental challenges and equipped me with the tools to analyze and propose effective policy solutions. I explored the potential of agricultural methane technology and biogas production as a viable and sustainable energy source.

Data Analysis: Forest Fires

Through this task, I demonstrated my ability to read a dataset from the web into R and to clean and wrangle the data into a tidy format. Additionally, I displayed my skills in exploratory data analysis by summarizing the data in at least one table and creating at least one relevant plot using only the training data. These skills are essential for conducting effective data analysis and can be applied in various fields, including business, research, and data science.

Victims and Land Restitution Law

The course focused on poverty and inequality measurement and analysis, while my research analyzed the efficiency and justice implications of Colombian law 1448 of 2011 on providing restorative justice to victims of internal conflict.
